In
addition to attending the five day programme you will need
to:
- Provide evidence of the learning, skills and feedback you acquired during Destination Coach. This evidence can take the form of your completed Travel Guide or other notes from your Destination Coach programme.
- Demonstrate that on completion of Destination Coach, you had a Personal Action Plan for applying your skills as a Coach and provide evidence that you have successfully achieved the aims and objectives you set for yourself on that plan.
- Provide evidence of your personal charter as a Coach including your principles, values, ethics and commitments when in the role of Coach.
- Provide a written example of the coaching contract you will use, or have used, with a client.
- Complete a pre-coaching Self Assessment of your skills as a Coach in one of the following two ways:
1] If you completed an Insights, MBTI or Communications Style Questionnaire during or around the same time as attending Destination Coach this can be submitted as evidence of your pre-coaching communication style and skills.
2] If not, you will be required to go on-line and complete a Coaching Competencies Skills Self-Assessment which is administered for us by CFM Consulting in Scotland. Instructions for completing this on-line assessment can be obtained from Karen@blueskytalent.biz. This should be completed within one week of attending Destination Coach.
- Conduct a minimum of 6 X 1 Hour Coaching Sessions with at least three different clients. For each Coaching Session, capture your experience, reflections, impact and feedback on a Coaching Practice sheet (issued during Destination Coach). Include specific feedback from your client either on the Coaching Practice form or in the form of verbal notes, emails, cards or other evidence of client feedback to you as a Coach. Two of your Coaching Sessions may be with clients you coached during Destination Coach week. The remaining Sessions must be with clients you have coached subsequent to attending the programme.
- Provide actual evidence of your coaching skills by one of the following:
1] a recorded actual coaching session with a client who has given permission for their session to be used confidentially for your assessment purposes
2] invite a member of IC International Faculty to listen and observe you conducting a client coaching session
3] offer to coach a member of IC International Faculty as your client
- Ask three of your Coaching Clients to assess your Coaching Skills using the on-line Coaching Competencies Assessment Feedback process administered for us by CFM Consulting in Scotland. Once three of your clients have agreed to participate in this, please advise Karen, Karen@blueskytalent.biz, of their email contact details and she will set up the process in conjunction with CFM. Your clients will be sent an automatically generated email with a link to the questionnaire along with a personalised user name and password for access. They will need 15-20 minutes to complete the questionnaire and will not be sent the results of your assessment.
- When your three clients and yourself have all completed the on-line Coaching Competency Questionnaire, you will be sent your results and feedback by email. Through Karen, Karen@blueskytalent.biz, you will also have the opportunity to arrange a debrief telephone call with our colleagues at CFM Consulting who will provide feedback on your results along with ideas and suggestions for your continued development as a Coach.
- Demonstrate your commitment to Coaching by drawing up an action plan for (a) your continued implementation of your coaching skills and (b) your own continued personal development and growth as a Coach.
- Pull together all the above evidence into a Portfolio for the Assessors to review. There are no fixed guidelines for the Portfolio format and many applicants take the opportunity to submit materials which reflect their own approach to and application of Coaching in their organisation or own coaching practice. Include any additional materials, evidence or feedback which supports your Coaching experience, skills and impact on clients.
Please submit two copies of your portfolio – one to CFM Consulting, Scotland and one to IC International, Canada
- Attend two interviews to demonstrate your understanding and application of the IC Coaching Model.
1] with a Faculty Member of IC International to assess how well you are living, practicing and role-modelling the philosophies and skills acquired during Destination Coach
2] with a representative of CFM Consulting and a representative from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland to validate the level and quality of your learning as demonstrated and supported by your portfolio.
These interviews may be conducted by phone, face to face or by video conferenced as is most convenient.
On successful completion of these interviews you will be awarded with your Certificate of Professional Development in Inspirational Coaching.
We recommend that you apply for certification within nine months of your attendance on Destination Coach
